Hi there,

I'm filling in a Section 8, rent arrears. Having seen the guidance note about what to write in, I have a question please:

Rent was due: 1st June, 1st July, 1st Aug....none of which have been received.

So, the guidance notes give the wording to write in, but how far is the person actually in arrears? Foir example, August is overdue so on one had he could be 3 months in arrears, but we are only on the 8th of August? - so the payment is late, but the month of August hasn't passed, and had he paid, he'd really be 'in credit' for the remainder of August. So, is he 2 moths 1 week in arrears in terms of 'actual time'...or 3 months 1 week, based on 'due' payment dates?

Also, as it's monthly paid rent, do I still include the amount it increases each day? If so, to I divide the monthly amount by 31 days, for an average month?

Many thanks,

Paul
