Banning smokers from renting properties?

Can a letting agency have a no smoking policy? a letting agent is managing my property and they say that they have a no smoking policy and won't let any smokers rent any properties they manage. I would have thought that it was the property that had a no smoking policy and not the letting agent. Is this legal? I only ask this as they could be turning away good tenants from my property.
