Deposit Schemes,able to send deposit money to tenant abroad?

My tenants tenancy ends 10th Sept.

We check room same day,then also double check day after when all possessions have gone.

We will be ready to release his money on 11th Sept online DPS.

He is travelling to Japan on 15th and needs his money by then.My 2 experiences of DPS is they send tenant deposit money to an address the landlord types in within 5 working days., so if we type into DPS website on 11th he will not get money in UK until 18th if it is a cheque.

Has anyone got the cheque sent abroad and how long minimum does it take? I have also heard some get it paid by bank transfer and wonder whether it will be quicker?

Have asked him to contact DPS helpline himself,but wanted to know what happened in practice

Maybe he should get DPS to send to relative in UK who can then transfer it to him?

Would welcome any experiences
