infestation of mice

can you please help with the following.

My tenants of almost 3 years have contacted me to say they now have an infestation of mice. They say they have bought traps from B&Q - but this has not helped. They have said the problem has got worse and I think they need to call a pest control company - as the problem is getting worse.

Who would bear the cost for this? My view is that they should as although they are good tenants they are not the cleanest people and given that this was not a problem before I am pretty sure this has become a problem due to their lack of cleanliness etc. Your advice would be appreciated.
