Hi, I've rented out a house (two floors semi-detached), under current fire obligations I believe a fire exit route must be considered i.e from upstairs to downstairs.
In terms of locks on the front or back door, what are the rules? Do they need to be thumb turned on the inside to allow easy exit? Or can I still use normal locks and keys (5 lever lock), the only issue is if the tenants lock the doors during the night and do not have their keys when they are trying to escape.

What advice would you suggest?

Regards

Alan
