A Tenant vacated my property on 02 Dec 13. She signed a ASTA (2010)with the assured 6 months ending 16 March 2011. This went onto a monthly contractural tenancy (Term A2 on the contract). Term A6 states tenant "...pay Council tax bills relating to property that apply during the tenancy."
I sent a copy of the tenancy agreement to the council advising that the tenant should be responsible for the Council tax until the calendar month notice ends on the 16th January 2014.
Please could you advise if this is correct, as I see from the contract, or is the council correct in charging the Landlord from the date the tenant vacates the property (rather than the end of the month's notice).
The tenant sent me the keys in the post.
I look forward to hearing from you.
