hi all. im a novice so any help is appreciated. i own a flat along with my wife. i am a higher rate tax payer (40%) while my wife is in the lower bracket(20%). can we allocate all the rental income and therefore any profit to my wife on her tax return so we only have to pay tax at the lower rate? or must the rent be split equally? would this be allowed if we show that she was receiving all the rent and not me? thanks for any help.
