My tenant is a single Belgian lady who is a lecturer at the local university in the second year of a standard RLA assured shorthold tenancy agreement. She has emailed me recently with the following request. " Am I allowed to get a copy made of my keys for my partner? He moved close to my flat and since I travel a lot it might be practical for him to have a key and check the place while I am out?"
Apparently " partner " these days means little more than a steady boyfriend or gentleman caller.
She is a good tenant but what questions should I ask and what if any are the risks I will be taking if I agree to her request?
