section 21 with no AST

Quick querie. Anyone got any experience of using a S21 notice with a Saving Clause due lost AST?? Usually see my own S21's through to eviction but asked sol for quote as not quite normal not to have an AST. Was told £200 to prepare notice (5mins work) so clearly want to avoid that cost. Anyone got examples of a Saving Clause used in a s21, I understand they are quite common but maybe not for this specific reason. I've had a look at the docs section with no joy - just standard s21's there. I would rather save my cash to spend on a sol for the Court bit - don't fancy my chances of explaining to magistrate what a Saving Clause is and where the AST has gone.
