I am new to being a landlord and will be renting out my home to colleagues whilst I live abroad. I want to make sure that i cover the basics. I'm aware I will need a tenancy agreement and an inventory, but what else would you advise that i have in place?

I'm also aware I need to take a deposit, is there a form for this?

Please would you be so kind as to support me in guiding me through the things that you recommend I put into place. As I know the tenants, things can be done a little more informally and we are not too worried about unnecessary forms etc as we trust each other...BUT.....I would like advice on what things I should do to protect myself and my home!
