Hello, i am looking at selling my flat. I purchased in 2003 and lived in it until 2007. I then moved out and let the property. i am now looking at selling and am conscious of CGT liability. Is there any relief available to me as i used to live in it? Is CGT only due on the increase in value from the date i moved out? Can i transfer the flat in its entirity to my spouse who is a low rate taxpayer and she then sell it thereby reducing cgt liability? Any help with this mine field would be most welcome. Thanks
