My new tenant's stepfather is her guarantor. He put up the deposit and will pay her rent every 3 months in advance. Although he will not be residing at the property and the tenancy agreement has been drawn up between myself and his stepdaughter, he has stipulated that he wants the deposit registered in his name and the prescribed information served to him rather than the tenant. Is this legally OK - to have the deposit registered under a different name than that on the tenancy agreement?
