We own a block of 5, self contained flats that we purchased in 2006. At the time, the flats were newly converted and conformed to all building regulations.

Can anyone confirm if a communal fire alarm/emergency lighting is required by law?

I assumed that it would be but, if the conversion passed regulations in 2006, should it not have been pulled up then. I have read that there are different regulations for conversions completed after 1991.

Thanks
