I read something yesterday which said that all Landlords that do no use letting agents (like me) should register with the Information Commissioner's Office. I had a quick look at the ICO site and a critical factor seems to be whether you just keep data for records or use it for other purposes. I use a company to do my tenant referencing but they do pass the results to me and of course it does have a bearing on whether or not I grant a tenancy. I just wondered whether I'm the last one to realise this and the rest of you have already registered?
