I have a tenant on HB and I get the HB paid direct to me. It has come to my attention that if she has been overpaid for whatever reason then I am liable to repay the over payment. I know as landlords we prefer if we can get paid direct but if the tenant gets paid direct to themselves then if they get overpaid are they then liable to repay the overpayment instead of the landlord?
