In recent time the government has seen fit to assist and pour money into assisting most businesses with the exception of the PRS.
The government suggested that landlords should give tenants rent holidays and seek same from their lenders if applicable.
To my knowledge exact guidelines for how this would work were no published. But I think that is relatively academic as most tenants wanted discount not holidays.Certainly I had to give discounts to about 60% of my tenants ( 20/30%) and this cost me about £5000 per month.
This was effectively money from my pocket with no subsidy other than I will not have to pay tax on rent foregone.
One was precluded from just giving up the game and selling up because even if there is a market, vacant possession cannot be certain given the embargo on possession claims.
So where is a typical investor now?
Diminished income and perhaps no effective income after interest, expenses and tax adjustment for interest.
The prospect of capital gains being increased to income tax levels which will result in 45% tax being paid on any significant disposal.
Increased personal rate of tax.

This all may be for a good cause to fund the covid expenses BUT that’s only fair if one had benefited from the gratuitous behaviour.
As a landlord I gave away a lot to and received nothing
A bit one sided!

ARE YOU GOING TO RAISE THIS MATTER.
I FEEL YOU WILL HAVE A HUGE BATTLE AS YOUR EXISTING CONCEPTS ARE DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSITE TO THOSE NOW UNDER CONSIDERATION
