The property is a converted terraced house in Ealing with 2 flats. In 2019 the freehold was bought up by an outside management company for 15k because the leaseholders couldn’t afford it. The management company have inflated all the charges for services and both leaseholders felt they have to sell, and they both had buyers for their flats. The freeholder did not respond to the buyers’ questions, which finally resulted in both sales falling through. So to regain control and sell their flats, both leaseholders feel they have got to buy the freehold themselves but worry about the expense. How is the freehold price calculated? Is there a limit on how much the freeholder can inflate the price? We need help so your advice is welcome.
