Advice needed...I'm a new landlord thinking of going with a lettings agent

Hi, My husband and I just bought a house to rent out. It is our first and we were thinking of going with a lettings agent for the first year. Can you please give me the pros and cons of letting agents? Also, I have to register with Rent Smart Wales and I can put them down as the landlord, or get a landlord licence and take the Rent Smart Wales course. Will registering the lettings company as 'The Landlords,' take away any of my rights?
