Following the recent introduction of legislation about EICR’s to be done on all private sector rented properties, we are seeking further advice from NRLA, because when we discussed this with you last time, you felt that it was being ‘too heavy handed’ to serve notice of forced entry using a locksmith. This is in relation to the tenants of properties where we have, after many attempts (written, phone calls, and text messages to tenants) have still been unsuccessful in gaining peaceful entry to get the EICR carried out.

Could you kindly confirm by email if this is still the opinion of NRLA.

Could you also provide us with guidance on what we can do in this situation.
