Tenant access after moving out

A tenant has moved out of the HMO but paying rent until end of month, does he have the right to come & go as he wishes ( until end of month) or should he be informing us of when he will come back to collect things. Remaining tenant feels vulnerable & does not wish contact with this individual. What is the law on this ?
