My property has recently fallen in small HMO category thanks to Lambeth council making it compulsory licence properties with 3 or more tenants. One of the documents that the HMO application requires is :Fire alarm Test Cert. I have hard-wired interlinked fire and heat alarms in my property, all with back up batteries which I press the button to test annually when inspecting or if there is a new tenancy. But I've not heard of this "Fire Alarm Certificate". Online it says it can be done by a competent person. My electrician has no idea what I'm talking about when I asked him to do it. Is this something I can do myself? Is there a template?
