Do I owe letting agent fee?

A potential tenant has approached me directly to rent my property after seeing an agent's notice board at the property. They knocked the door and got my contact details from my current tenant. They then contacted the letting agent but was told there were no more viewing spaces that week. They are happy to deal with me directly. Would the letting agent still be entitled to their fee?
