Hi I have a somewhat tricky situation of my tenants separating. I posted on here recently and was advised that if I don't received formal notice from one of the tenants that has left (he's informed me via whatsapp but has not returned keys) -- the other partner still in property, to let the existing contract with both names on run. I have done this (and to reissue only in one name is going to require affordability checks and sorting out deposits - tricky). So I have left the contract in both names until formally advised otherwise. Now the tenant is wanting to change her universal credit application ( I have recently increased rent using the relevant form from the NRLA) and needs the rent increase form in her name only. Can I issue a rent increase form only in her name if the tenancy contract has 2 names on........
