Another member has already noticed the phrase NEED to sell, as opposed to the landlord WISHING to sell. What the White Paper appears to neglect is the landlord’s right to ownership.

There may be others, like myself, who own a single property which was bought, initially, for a student son who has since moved elsewhere: it was NOT as a Buy-to-Let. This option was only adopted because of a severe drop in the market value.

I have, quite reasonably, deferred acting to repossess that property from the tenant during the Covid crisis, a tenant who was aware in March 2021 that I wanted to sell.

An Accelerated Claim for possession, N5, has been submitted - and I fully expect that the tenant will challenge this with lame excuses.

Mr Gove, I WISH to sell MY property to support my family as they battle with ever-increasing mortgage rates and cost of living rises. MY family are my priority.

I cannot be the only person in this position!
