NRLA North West Regional Webinar

This webinar was filmed on the 02/06/2020. In case you missed it or would like to listen again, we have prepared a recording for you to watch below.

Join the NRLA's local authority policy officer, Gavin Dick, to find out more about what the future of energy efficiency looks like for landlords and the PRS, how you can anticipate upgrades in your business plan, and how things may change in light of the impact of Coronavirus on Government ambitions.

The UK Government has committed to meeting net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, and all aspects of society and the economy will need to adapt. Landlords will already be aware of the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) which require a minimum E rating on an EPC for a property to be let in England and Wales. But this is just the first step in a process which will require privately rented properties to reach an A rating in advance of the 2050 deadline.

Gavin has been working with the Welsh Government on their decarbonisation of homes programme, and liaises with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) on their PRS strategy. The presentation is followed by questions from attendees, when Gavin is joined by Tim Thomas, policy officer at the NRLA.
