The short-term accommodation sector has had a difficult year.  Tourism has stalled and travel by international students and the corporate sector - so crucial to the London economy - has reduced substantially.  But as Covid restrictions are eased, summer staycations are coming into focus, boosting demand for Airbnb style lets in the capital.  If like many London landlords you are suffering from reduced rents and longer voids, could short term lets be part of your business strategy going forward?  Your NRLA London reps Richard, Karen & Yvonne will be joined by Merilee Karr, chair of the Short-Term Accommodation Association, who also runs her own agency Under The Doormat.  We will be looking at some of the challenges faced by the sector in the past year and policy issues going forward.  What practical steps would you need to take to offer accommodation successfully on a short-term basis and would it make financial sense for you?
