Hi guys, I hope you can advise.

I’ve got a tenant that has been in arrears before covid19. It got worse, he’ll pay one month and not pay the following. I reached out to him a few times to agree on a plan but he refused to commit to anything.

At the moment he owes £1914.12 without adding the daily rate. I’ve now issued a section 8 which will expire in November.

On receipt of it, he sent me a text stating his intention of paying £100 extra each month. However, that means it’ll take 1year and 7months for him to clear the arrears if he adheres to his promise. Otherwise, it would take longer. And I’m not confident that he wouldn’t default. He hasn’t been straightforward with us right from time so ideally i want him out of my property. His tenancy agreement ends on the 10th of September. What is the best way forward for me please?

Thank you in advance
