Hello,

I am a Landlord but also a tenant. We moved out of our property over 5 weeks ago and have only just been informed of potential deductions from our deposit. The tenancy agreement states that we must be informed within 10 days of the end of tenancy. The inventory report was completed and passed on within 2 days of the end of tenancy. The property managing company tell us this this clause is not legally binding and only a guide. Over the past 5 weeks they have not contacted us with a reason for the delay or to seek our permission for a delay.

"At The End Of The Tenancy The Landlord Or His Agent/Member Must Tell The Tenant Within 10

Working Days (These Timescales Can Be Changed By Agreement With The Tenant In Individual

Cases) Of The End Of The Tenancy If They Propose To Make Any Deductions From The Deposit"

Our deposit is held with TDS. We will be contesting the deductions anyway as they are trying to charge for reasonable wear and tear. We were lived at the property for nearly 7 years.

I would appreciate any help.
