Hi
having to get our 1st EICR as new tenant moving in a 1 bed flat
We got quote from electrician and he stated report must be renewed EVERY new tenant or tenancy not 5 years and would do report otherwise
That is what the government guidelines are telling him as he states tenant may tamper with electrics
That is mad as this flat usually has new tenants every 6 months(or less) and that would be £130 each time!
Is there some definite legislation that states it just needs 5 years on the PROPERTY and not the tenancy?
We are now having to check this detail with every quote to see if they will put renew in 5 years ONLY and not mention new tenancy
