Legality of Interest Free Credit for BTL properties

We are refurbishing one of our properties which needs re-carpeting. A well known national supplier is offering interest free credit but they told us that it was against the law to offer interest free for BTL properties so we would have to pay cash. This does not sound right but can anyone please confirm if this is in fact the case?
