Conditions when renewing a tenancy

Under the AST signed by my tenants there is provision for a complete cleaning of the carpets at the tenants expense at the end of the tenancy. These tenants had an original 12 month tenancy. Then in mid Covid we agreed a renewal of a further 6 months to 1/2/21. After my contacting them to offer an extension as they agreed to a further 6 months at a slightly higher rent. I am going to renew with all the previous terms and conditions in place, and notify them of an inspection to check on the property for R & M and any issues (which I also did in the summer all satisfactory). Should I request carpet cleaning in Feb as they were all brand new carpets at the start but after 18 months might need some attention?
