Hi,

I have a query around EICR certification required for existing tenants.
We have an existing tenant in a property where the Electrics need to be updated. The work required will be extensive, ie a full rewire with floorboards up, ceilings and walls exposed to run new wires.
As such could you please confirm exactly what needs to be done by 1st April 2021 in line with this EICR regulation?
Our understanding is that we shall need to ask the tenant to vacate property in order to carry out the works as it will be impractical to carry out these works with them present in the property.
However with the current notice period being 6 months, serving notice now will take us beyond the April 2021 deadline, hence could you please advise how best to handle this situation?
