I have a contract for boiler maintenance with SSE Home Services which includes the annual inspection of all gas appliances. The certificate expired on 9 October so in September I tried to make an appointment. After several phone calls It was eventually arranged for 6 November. The tenant assures me that the appointment was kept and the inspection carried out.

No certificate has been issued and I have lost track of the number of calls I have made asking for it. The SSE 'agents' are always very polite and assure me that the will deal with it right away. But nothing happens.

I understand that earlier this year SSE disbanded their army of engineers with their company vans and now engage a local company to do jobs.

Where do I stand? I have done everything I can but still have no certificate. I now know which local company was engaged so should I call them?

The contract is due for renewal and I will not use SSE again.
