Section 8 to be re-served due to increased debt owing?

Morning,

12th October 2020 - S.8 notice served for rent owing amounting to 3 months
28th December 2020 - Rent owing is now greater than 6 months

Is it possible to re-serve a S8 with the shorter resolution timescale? If it is, is there anything I need to be aware of with applying/issuing the new S8?
