We are considering setting up some kind of trust into which we would like to transfer the asset (portfolio of properties). We have no idea what to do.
We are currently sole/partner status. Our accountant does not feel it is wise, given that we use some of the rent as our income & we would be therefore liable to a 40% tax charge. We wish to protect our portfolio & pass it onto our offspring. We have no intention of selling.
Please could anyone recommend a solicitor/tax adviser/firm that specialises in this field?
