I let a house with a small back garden. The garden is well kept, with no obvious food sources to attract rats. I’ve been doing void works over the last few days and have seen one rat in the garden a few times. I’m not sure it’s living in the garden (the garden’s in the middle of a long row of terraces with back to back gardens)

My question is, if there is a rat problem in the garden (not inside the house) would the landlord or tenant be responsible for dealing with it and paying pest control?

I just want to be prepared if this does turn out to be a problem!

Thanks
