Hello.

I have just purchased a new rental property. The previous owners has a gas safety check carried out in September 2020 and I have a copy of the certificate. I have 2 questions.

  1. Is the gas safety certificate valid for me to use as landlord even though my name is not on it?
  2. Assuming the answer to question 1 is yes, the current certificate only covers the gas central heating. The property also has a gas hob, so do I need to get a separate new certificate for the hob or can I wait until September this year and get everything renewed then?

Thanks in advance.
