I've had an offer accepted on a barn conversion to let as a holiday home, with 999+ years remaining on the lease from 2007. The lease allows for annual (yep!) reviews of ground rent and in 13 years it's gone from £150 to £375. I'm concerned it will grow to the point it's unreasonable. Does the new legislation mean that I could extend the lease by, say, ten years and thereby fix the ground rent at zero?
