We currently have a HMO property and one of the tenants seem to have moved in a guest/friend (in their own room) almost on a permanently basis. We have given the option that should they wish to share the room the monthly rent would need to be increased, which the tenant said it would not be required as the guest had a rented room elsewhere. The situation however has continued. Can you please advise where we stand on this and what our options are? Is it a case of simply asking them to leave?
