Gas and electric safety certificates

H, I'm a new Landlord and I have two flats which have just undergone full refurbishment, with all new services, boiler, etc. These have all been installed by qualified engineers. Do I still need to book an additional gas safety check and electrical safety check? Or will I be ok with the building regs compliance certificates for the first year? I want to get it right of course!
