I had a tenant in a terraced house in Coventry who left the property in December 2019. The deposit of %C2£800 was held by the TDS and subsequently released to the letting agent who are apparently holding it intact in their client account. We have asked the agent to contact the tenant to ask them to make contact with us by e mail or phone to try to amicably resolve the issues. We are owed 3 days rent , the cost of removing a sofa from the property and also damage to a double electric socket and kitchen worktop.

However Belvoir are not prepared to do anything unless we pay them a charge for getting involved at %C2£50 per hour + VAT. Belvoir have indicated that the tenant is taking legal action to recover the deposit but we have heard nothing from them or their legal people.

I need advice as to whether Belvoir are unreasonably withholding the tenants details on this. It is odd that we have heard nothing bearing in mind the tenancy expired on November 30 2019 ie 15 months ago.

Thanks
