Hello,

Does anyone know the guidance given to surveyors as to the acceptable minimum ceiling height for a room to be considered a "habitable" modern space?

I have a Georgian basement room that has never had any services connected to it and was in its original condition. For past 100 years my family has used for storage before that it was a kitchen complete with partially broken up range cooker that I have now removed. The maximum ceiling height was 1.75 meters and often less. My investment to make a modern day habiable room must add value t the property so any changes must meet mortgage lenders conditions as to it being habitable. Hence my need to know the minumum ceiling height.
