We provide housing for social services leaving care. We have been advised that an asylum seeker has now reached age 24 and is therefore no longer supported by social services. Social services have told us they made it clear to the asylum seeker he can no longer remain in the property and has to find his own accommodation via the local authority. The asylum seeker has not moved out and has no intention of doing so. Social services leaving care team have sent an email telling us we can attend with the police to remove him and change the locks.. Our contract is with social services leaving care team but it is not a commercial contract but a long standing verbal agreement. What are our rights to remove him and what is the correct process?

the asylum seeker has no recourse to public funds and is not allowed to work.
