Hi my tenant is long standing since 2010. She didn't have pets when she started renting my house, but she has got a cat and a dog, she initially hid this from me, but eventually told me. She's a good tenant and now lives mainly alone, her sons have left home. My question is this, am I within my rights to withhold her deposit as she never requested permission before she got the pets? my tenancy agreement stated no pets, originally. I've amended it to record I recognise she has pets. There are no plans at present for her leave.
