I have a couple (husband & wife) who have lived in my property for the last 5 years, both really good tenants. Unfortunately, they have split up and the wife has left, the husband wants to carry on living there on his own which I am happy about.
My question is, do I have to do another tenancy agreement or can I just cross her name off the original and confirm to them both in writing about the amendment to the agreement.
I don't particularly have a problem with arranging a new agreement in just his name, my only worry is that it would be for 6 months and if he decides after a couple of months that he can't afford the rent on his own, he will need to move out before his fixed period has ended?
