I have a Sharer tenant (in our personal house) who emailed (on 29th Sept) that he was leaving. His agreement says 5 wks notice. He wants to leave more or less immediately as he has found somewhere else to live. He says that he has a copy of the AST sharing Agreement but it was not signed by either party. He has been in residence since 1st Feb 2020. I have offered 25th Oct as a (paid up to) leaving day as that is when another sharer (of 2years) is leaving who gave 6wks notice. I understand that signed documents might by "Stronger" than unsigned but in these days of digital communication, digital money transfers etc I would be interested to know whether unsigned documents that have been used for 19 months are so called legal or not
