There is guidance on how to fill in the AST template. However, the guidance does not include an example with paying weekly.

During the periodic part, the template is more clear, on how to handle weekly payment AST. Is the same applicable during the fixed term, that it can only be ended at the last day of a week?

Should the fixed term maybe be stated in weeks and not in months, if paying weekly?

  1. months is 26 weeks and 1 day. Is 27 weeks then the shortest allowed fixed term, when paying weekly? (as 26 weeks are not a full 6 months?)

The AST template could be improved to cover weekly rents in a better way. As it is now, it says 1 month if giving notice during the first 6 months. Should maybe be 4 weeks, when on an AST, paying weekly?

Please try yourselves to fill in the template for a weekly pay, and you will find, that it is not easy. It then becomes very unclear for the tenant. It should be very easy to define the last date to give notice to end the tenancy after the fixed term.

It is also unclear, saying: pay rent in advance; but then payment is ok on the first day of the month?

Unclear that the template is using both: "pay by" date and "payment is due" date, if you do mean the same; would be better to use one of them, and define the meaning.
