Suppose you have issued a section 21 notice, because you want to sell the property, but it ends up taking longer to sell it than you thought? Can an informal arrangement be made somehow that the tenant can remain in the property (beyond the s 21 deadline) until it is been sold. Or do you have to keep extending and amending and sending the section 21 notice? We have already paid out to have the s21 notice produced (which was a bit pricey), and don't want to incur any more legal fees. Can this be done with e.g. a letter saying that we are happy for them to remain in it and keep paying the rent but would require them to leave within 3 months if it was sold (the usual time delay for completion).
