New boiler fitted so gas safe or not?

Hi, the boilers in my properties are coming up for repair, now, all the gas safes are up to date but obviously don't carry over to a different boiler but will a brand new boiler need a gas safe for the first 12 months as opinions of fitters/gas boiler suppliers is split?
