I have a tenant that has been in prison since June so I have not received any rent since. I have issued a section 8 notice on 13th October but of course Corona virus rules mean I can't apply for a court order for 6 months!!! His probation officer contacted me in August to say she was looking into benefit payments and he was being released soon. His brother in law also confirmed beginning of September he was being released. I have not heard anything since. His guarantor (mother) has messaged to say that yes probation services are "sorting" the rent but I've not heard anything or received payment. I have left messages for the PO to give me an update but I'm not getting any response. I'm getting increasingly worried about the amount of arrears as it's now at £2,400. Is there anything else I can do?
